In the past several years automakers have gradually begun producing fuel-cell vehicles destined for the general market. Other mobile applications include fuel cells for buses, boats and motorcycles. Fuel cells’ lack of emissions is especially advantageous in special environments such as indoors (for example, forklifts) or in aerospace applications.
Swiss Hydrogen proposes hydrogen-air fuel cell systems in the range of 10 to 100 kW, suitable as primary power or range extenders for cars, trucks, buses, boats and heavy machinery. A fuel cell range-extender system can double the range of an ordinary electric vehicle, and can also be the source of primary drive power when the vehicle’s battery is empty.
